Hyperdiluted Radiesse®: Seize the unique benefits of an exciting way to use this long-lasting filler
Rachel Moline Blankenship at Andromeda Aesthetics never stands still when keeping pace with the latest innovations in skincare and cosmetic enhancement. Fittingly, our office in Moneta, Virginia, is pleased to offer a twist on one of the most durable fillers on the market today: Radiesse®. By specially preparing this filler, we can produce a hyperdiluted version of Radiesse®. This filler has unique properties and capabilities for restoring volume, youthful contours, and definition on the face and neck, especially among those who have lost considerable weight and are now dealing with secondary challenges in terms of extreme laxity or sag.
Remind me – what is Radiesse®?
Radiesse® is among those special fillers that also function as a collagen stimulator or biostimulator. It is formulated with CaHA or calcium hydroxyapatite, which is similar to a substance found naturally in our bones. As the filler is absorbed, the body metabolizes CaHA and leaves behind natural collagen. Since this process promotes structural changes within the skin, Radiesse® and other biostimulators get longer results than other types of fillers – lasting anywhere from 18 to 24 months instead of three to six months.
What is hyperdiluted Radiesse®?
This new form of Radiesse® is produced when you dilute it with saline or lidocaine. The filler may be diluted in ratios of 1:1 to 1:6. Any time it is diluted by at least a ratio of 1:2, the resulting Radiesse® formulation is called “hyperdiluted.” Dilutions may be adjusted and customized to each patient’s needs; for instance, for those with normal skin thickness, we may dilute it at a ratio of 1:2. But for those with severely “aged” skin, we may dilute it at a higher ratio of up to 1:6. This type of Radiesse® is also injected more superficially than its unaltered counterpart.
Why do you dilute Radiesse® in the first place?
By injecting hyperdiluted Radiesse® in a more superficial manner, we can effectively address issues related to laxity (sagging) and skin texture. This type of treatment is made for crepey skin, fine wrinkles, scars (such as those caused by past acne breakouts), cellulite dimpling, and loose skin. We particularly like to apply this form of Radiesse® to areas of the face and neck that have sustained significant laxity due to weight loss. It helps keep the treated areas more taut and, with time, promotes firming and improves smoothness and softness. Your youthful and well-defined contours are restored by using this technique, as changes like considerable weight loss can prematurely “age” you and compromise your vibrant facial shape and definition.
What can I expect from treatment with hyperdiluted Radiesse®?
This version of Radiesse® can get significant improvements with little to no downtime and risks. Thinning the filler helps ensure a more uniform distribution of Radiesse®. Moreover, we utilize blunt microcannulas to reduce the number of injections needed. This approach minimizes bumpiness, supports the most natural-looking results, and encourages skin stimulation via more direct contact with the targeted tissues.
